Introduction

Hi, I’m Anis.

I’m a psychologist, and what has always drawn me to this work is my curiosity about people: how we make sense of our experiences, how our relationships shape us, and why sometimes we find ourselves repeating patterns that no longer serve us. Over the years, both my professional experience and my own life have taught me that psychological difficulties rarely have a single cause or a simple solution.

What we experience today can be connected to many different things: our past experiences, relationships, expectations, environment, and the way we have learned to understand ourselves. I believe that making sense of these connections can be an important first step towards meaningful change.

In therapy, I aim to create a space where you can speak openly and honestly without feeling judged. I’m warm and approachable, but I also value honesty and openness. I will listen carefully, ask questions, help you recognise patterns, and when appropriate, gently challenge perspectives or behaviours that may be keeping you stuck. I don’t see therapy as someone telling you what you should do with your life. Instead, I see it as a collaborative process. My role is to walk alongside you for a while, helping you understand yourself more clearly, develop new perspectives, and discover ways of dealing with difficulties that feel more helpful and sustainable.

About my approach

My approach is integrative and evidence-based, meaning that I adapt the way we work to your individual needs rather than applying one method to everyone. During sessions, we may explore what is happening in your life now, while also looking at the experiences and patterns that may have contributed to your current difficulties. We can work together to understand your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships, and identify patterns that may be maintaining your difficulties.

Depending on what you need, therapy may involve reflection and self-exploration as well as practical strategies for managing emotions, changing unhelpful patterns, improving coping, and moving towards the life you want to build. I believe that therapy works best when there is trust, openness, and collaboration.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Sometimes, having a safe space to pause, understand what is happening, and make sense of your experiences is where meaningful change begins.
