Introduction
My name is Jeannique.
I am a psychologist with a multicultural background, and I understand that navigating different cultures, adapting to change, or finding your place in a new environment can sometimes be challenging.
At times, you may feel anxious, low, lonely, or overwhelmed. You might find yourself worrying about the future, overthinking your decisions, or wondering whether what you do is ever good enough. Perhaps you are struggling to connect with others, experiencing stress at work or during your studies, or simply feeling that something is preventing you from enjoying your daily life.
As an online psychologist, I offer a safe and supportive space where we can explore what you are experiencing and work towards meaningful change. I can support you with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, burnout, sleep difficulties, work- or study-related concerns, and difficulties adjusting to life changes.
I can also help you if you would like to strengthen your motivation, self-esteem, or self-confidence, or if perfectionism and self-criticism are getting in your way.
Having a multicultural background myself allows me to understand the complexities that can come with living between different cultures and perspectives. I speak Dutch, Papiamento, and Spanish fluently.
About my approach
Feeling safe, heard, and understood is an important part of therapy. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you as an individual. Together, we look at what is currently affecting you, what you would like to change, and what can help you experience more calm, balance, and confidence in your daily life.
I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT can help you gain a better understanding of the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviour. During our sessions, we identify patterns that may be holding you back and work on developing healthier and more helpful ways of thinking and responding.
Therapy is an active and collaborative process. Alongside our sessions, I may suggest practical exercises that you can try in your daily life. By practising what you learn, you can gradually build new skills and become more confident in handling difficult thoughts, emotions, and situations.
Ultimately, my aim is to help you develop the insight and tools you need to move forward with greater confidence and independence. Therapy is successful when you feel better equipped to manage life's challenges and no longer need my support to do so.
