Introduction
Hi, I’m Michelle.
I’m a psychologist and coach based in Maastricht. I work online, in Dutch and English, and if you prefer, in Limburgish (Maastrichts dialect) too. I work with people who feel stretched thin, stuck, or not quite themselves anymore. Sometimes that comes from stress or burnout. Sometimes it comes from a relationship that left you doubting yourself: a controlling or unsafe partner, a difficult separation, or a situation where you never fully felt at ease. Most of the people I work with are women, but men are very welcome too.
Before this, I worked as an absenteeism specialist and coach, talking with people who were exhausted, overwhelmed or simply running on empty. More recently I worked in youth care, supporting parents through very hard separations and with questions about raising their children. In both places I saw how closely stress and relationships are connected. If you don’t feel safe or are under stress at home, it’s hard to focus at work. And if you keep going for too long, doing what you “should” without time to rest or reflect, you can lose sight of who you are and what you actually want.
I know from my own life what it can be like to feel stressed, unsafe or controlled, and what it can do to your emotions, the way you think and how your body feels. I also know how difficult it can be to find your way out of that space. That’s why I’m here to help you (re)discover yourself, step by step.
You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly what’s wrong. We can start wherever you are.
About my approach
For me, the relationship between us comes first. It is important that, together, we create a space where you feel safe, heard and free to be yourself: a safe haven where we can talk openly and honestly, because I believe that is the foundation needed to make change possible. I don’t follow a fixed protocol. I work with the person in front of me. I listen to your story, ask questions, look at the patterns that keep showing up, and help you see them from other angles, so you can find your own strength in them. Making sense of what happened matters, and so does what your body has been carrying. That’s why I also offer practical tools, such as nervous system regulation, breathwork and journaling, that you can use in your daily life.
My approach is warm, but I’ll also name what I see, always with respect and integrity. Together we look at where your patterns come from, how to trust yourself again, and how to build a life that fits you, on your own terms.
Change takes time. You set the pace, and I’ll walk alongside you.
